Colusa County Selects Xzandrea D. Fowler as Community Development Director

(Colusa, CA) January 23, 2025 – The County of Colusa is pleased to announce the selection of Xzandrea D. Fowler as its new Community Development Director. Fowler, a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in community development, will assume her new role on Feb. 1, 2025 following the retirement of current Community Development Director Greg Plucker whose last day with the County will be Jan. 31, 2025.

“We are thrilled to welcome Xzandrea to the Colusa County team,” said Wendy Tyler, County Administrative Officer. “Her impressive background and dedication to public service make her an ideal fit for this position. We are confident that she will bring innovative ideas and a fresh perspective to our community development efforts.”

Fowler joins Colusa County from her previous role as Environmental Coordinator/Division Manager at the County of San Luis Obispo. Fowler worked for the County of San Luis Obispo since 2012 where she established a proven track record of success in a variety of community development roles, including economic development, environmental planning, and land use planning.

“I am honored to be selected as the new Community Development Director for Colusa County,” said Fowler. “I look forward to working with the talented team at the County to continue the important work of enhancing our community. Together, we will strive to create a thriving and sustainable future for Colusa County.”

Greg Plucker, the outgoing Director of Community Development, expressed his gratitude for his years of service and confidence in Fowler’s ability to lead the department. “I really do not know how I can adequately express my gratitude to the Board and citizens of Colusa County for allowing me the privilege of serving them,” said Plucker. As I look back over my nearly 40-year career in community development, I have worked with some truly remarkable individuals throughout the State. But in Colusa it has felt like home and it is so very hard to be leaving so very many friends who I consider family. I like to think that I have made a difference in serving the citizens of the County, but I know that I am leaving the Department in better hands to Xzandrea who not only is a talented professional but understands the honor she has been given to serve the County.”
