Statewide Special Election: Proposition 50

On Tuesday, November 4, 2025, there will be a Statewide Special Election to vote on Proposition 50: Use of Temporary Legislative Congressional Map by a California Constitutional Amendment.

 Key Election Information:

The Colusa County Registrar of Voters would like to advise the public of two new processes.

  1. Due to a change in the US Postal Service routes and processes, ballots may not be postmarked when deposited, but instead could be postmarked at a Regional processing center, which may not be the same day.  This process may cause issues with ballot envelopes not being postmarked on the same day as deposited.  In order for a ballot envelope to be processed in the Election Office, it must be postmarked by 8:00 pm on Election Day.  In order to ensure that your ballot be counted, the voter needs to assure the correct postmark date.  USPS has advised that voters may walk their ballot to the counter and request it be postmarked at the counter.
  2. An in person voting clarification was issued by The Secretary of State by memorandum contained in  CCROV 25109 clarifying that voters may vote their VBM ballot, without the ballot identification envelope, in person at their designated vote center.

REMINDER that your ballot must be:

  • Put in the mail and postmarked by 8:00 pm on Nov 4, 2025, and received no later than Nov 11, 2025.
  • Delivered to one of the following locations by 8:00 pm on Election Day:
    • The Elections Office at 546 Jay St., Colusa CA.
    • The Satellite location at Education Village 499 Margurite St., Williams CA.
    • Drive through drop box in the alley behind the Colusa Police Department at 260 6th St., Colusa CA.
    • Dropped off in any drop box or polling location in the State of CA.
