(Colusa, CA) February 5, 2025 – Colusa County residents can dispose of their old tires for free during the upcoming Tire Amnesty Days. This event, sponsored by Colusa County and the Rural Counties' Environmental Services Joint Powers Authority, aims to reduce illegal tire dumping and promote responsible tire disposal.
“Improperly discarded tires pose a significant environmental and health hazard. This Tire Amnesty event provides a safe and convenient way for residents to dispose of their old tires responsibly, helping to keep our community clean and healthy,” said Colusa County Public Works Director, Michael Azevedo.
Event Details:
- Dates: Every Saturday in March (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th)
- Time: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM
- Location: Colusa County Road Dept., 5714 E Street, Williams
- Eligibility: Colusa County residents only
- Limit: No more than nine tires per resident will be accepted. Tires must be for passenger trucks or cars and WITHOUT rims. No commercial and/or ag tires.

Transportation Exemption:
Residents needing to transport more than nine tires (up to 20) can contact Colusa County Public Works at (530) 458-0466 to obtain a Transportation Exemption.
This Tire Amnesty event is funded by a grant from the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle). Funding is limited, and Colusa County reserves the right to stop accepting tires for free disposal at any time.
